Distance education of pupils with physical and combined disabilities at lower secondary school

The diploma thesis is dedicated to the distance education of pupils with physical and combined disabilities, with a focus on those where physical disabilities predominate. It specifically addresses pupils in the secondary grades of elementary schools established according to § 16, paragraph 9 of the Education Act. The theoretical section briefly characterizes students with physical and combined disabilities. Additionally, it outlines the conditions, specifics, and possibilities of education for this target group in the Czech Republic. The chapter on distance education introduces the forms of teaching, its organization, specifics, benefits, and challenges for students in this group and their teaching staff. A qualitative research study is included in the thesis, conducted through semi-structured interviews with thirteen teaching staff members from four schools. The research aimed to determine the extent and ways in which, according to pedagogical staff, the experience with mandated distance learning influenced the education of students with physical disabilities. Basal stimulation concept in the educational process of rehabilitation classes

My theses deals with the use of basal stimulation concept in the treatment of students with combined disabilities in special elementary schools in Czech Republic. The theoretical part includes literary research concerning basal stimulation concept - its origins, development and theoretical foundations and it describes its specific elements and their use in educational programmes for specialized elementary schools. The practical part concentrates on the quantitative survey research with the goal to map the use of the basal stimulation concept in the specialized elementary schools in Czech Republic to find out which specific elements are in the educational process used the most. Survey research discovered that in the educational process with students with serious combined disabilities the concept of basal stimulation is used by 80% of schools. The somatic, vibrational, auditory and tactile-haptic stimulation are used the most. The specific elements used are - somatic massage, adjustment of the position, use of music and use of tactile perception in motor stimulation of the hand.
Teamwork in the process of communication ability development of children with multiple disability in special elemantary school

The Rigorosum thesis in its theoretical part defines the basis and function of communication as well as motivation to communication. It also gives information on disturbed communication abilities, strategy during the therapy and therapeutic methods used in logopeadics. The term pupil with multiple disability is defined, and conditions and objectives of education in special elementary school closely focused on the development of communication abilities of the pupils outlined. Teamwork on developing communication skills of the schoolchildren, along with definition of the competences of the members of the team and possible types of cooperation represent the principal topic of the thesis. Analysis of the current implementation of teamwork, participation of experts from education and health care departments, as well as the purpose and intensity of cooperation in selected special elementary schools in Czech Republic is presented, based on the questionnaire survey. A proposal of the implementation of teamwork in practise is finally presented.
